NPA Information Servicess

An Association for professionals needs to deal with a large number of technical enquiries and the NPA Information Department has an important position in the hub of the Association's services - making it one of the most visible faces of the NPA.

It is one of the most experienced and comprehensive information resources available to community pharmacists, with a skilled team (including 5 registered pharmacists) to assist members with a wide range of practice-related solutions, providing information, reassurance and support.

It handles in excess of 14,000 calls per month, on a wide range of pharmacy practice related questions covering areas such as drug information, NHS matters and law and ethics. Over 99% of telephone queries are fully answered at the time of the enquiry.

The Department publishes leaflets and resources on practice and legal issues, and the community pharmacy-focused news updates, which provides members with an essential news services relevant to their business. In addition, it includes a specialist library of British and foreign reference books and range of technical CD-ROMs and provides technical input into the majority of NPA member resources produced across the organisation.
