Pharmacy Allergy Screening Service to be promoted at the Ideal Home Show

16 Mar 2010

Allergy UK and the National Pharmacy Association’s (NPA) community pharmacy allergy screening service will be promoted at the Ideal Home Show from Saturday 20 March until Monday 5 April at Earl’s Court in London.

Alan Bolton Executive Director, Allergy UK said: “The Allergy UK team will offer advice and guidance to the public on how to manage the symptoms of allergy and will also refer them to the allergy screening service in community pharmacy.”

Mark Beckett, NPA Press Officer said: “The NPA and Allergy UK worked together last year to offer free allergy screening at the Hampton Court Flower Show. We are delighted that we can work again with Allergy UK, this time at the Ideal Home Show, promoting community pharmacy as the first port of call for people who have questions on their allergies.”

The Allergy UK area at the Ideal Home Show, Earl’s Court is Stand Number 1R39, ground floor.

The community pharmacy allergy screening service has been running in England since 2008 and in Scotland and Wales since the beginning of last year. For more information about the community pharmacy allergy screening service visit www.allergyuk.org or www.askyourpharmacist.co.uk.
