Ask Your Pharmacist in Shopping Centres

26 Jul 2010

During the National Pharmacy Association’s (NPA) Ask Your Pharmacist Week (8-14 November 2010) community pharmacists in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales will be on hand to offer health advice and provide free health checks in shopping centres.

After the health check* the pharmacist will explain what the results mean for the patient and will provide follow up advice. The events will also promote health services and knowledge available in community pharmacy and encourage people to visit their own local pharmacy for further information.

The Ask Your Pharmacist events will take place in Buchanan Galleries Shopping Centre, Glasgow on Wednesday 10 November 2010; Foyleside Shopping Centre in L’Derry on Thursday 11 November 2010 and St David’s Shopping Centre, Cardiff on Thursday 11 November 2010.

NPA members who would like to volunteer should contact Janice Oman j.oman@npa.co.uk (for Scotland), Anne McAlister a.mcalister@npa.co.uk (for Northern Ireland) and Steve Simmonds s.simmonds@npa.co.uk (for Wales). Further information about the events and other Ask Your Pharmacist activity will be available soon on the campaigns section of the NPA’s website.
