Today (28 January 2010) Anne Main MP visited the new hearing lab at Nash Pharmacy (Unit 1 Ermine Close, next to Waitrose) in St Albans. The Nash Hearing Lab will offer hearing tests to the public free of charge and provide advice on the best course of action.
Mr Nashir Janmohamed, Nash Pharmacy owner said: “We are always trying to add services that are of value to the local community. The hearing lab is something that we have had many requests for and now we can offer that service using the latest technology.”
“All appointments are 100% free and will last approximately 30 minutes. After the hearing test, our hearing aid audiologist will present the results, and advise you of their recommended action - the audiologist can also fit hearing aids. We also have our hearing accessories shop, which contains batteries, spectacle aids, noise protectors and much more. It is also possible to bring an existing hearing aid in for repairs, maintenance or upgrades. Nash Hearing Lab is much more than just a hearing centre – our aim is to provide quality service to all our customers.”
John Turk National Pharmacy Association (NPA) Chief Executive is: “The hearing lab is another excellent service being provided by Nash Pharmacy which meets the needs of the local community. The NPA was delighted that at the end of last year we could use Nash Pharmacy, one of our local members, to provide flu vaccinations to over 40 of our in-house staff. We would recommend that all organisations and individuals look to community pharmacy to provide them with a professional and personal flu vaccination service next Winter as well as advice on all health issues.”
“Since the launch of Ask Your Pharmacist Week in November 2009 we have asked all MPs to support pharmacies in their constituencies. The NPA are pleased that Anne Main MP is involved in promoting the good work pharmacies are doing in St Albans.”
Anne Main MP said: “I was delighted to visit Nash Pharmacy today to see the good work the pharmacy is doing, both through their hearing lab and other health services being offered. Pharmacies, like Nash, play a vital role in meeting the health needs of the local community and I support them in this."
