NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (with accredited underpinning knowledge)

This course is accredited by the RPSGB as providing the training requirements for anyone involved with the dispensing process.

Who is this course suitable for?

New dispensing staff, part time dispensing staff, relief dispensers including medicines counter assistants.

What does this course contain?

The course is divided into 4 Modules that provide the underpinning knowledge, covering:

Plus evidence collection to cover 6 NVQ Units.

* Modules forming part of  ADAC.

You will receive the coursework in regular mailings throughout the year and full guidance will be given throughout the course.

How will I be assessed?

The assessments include:

  • Inter-text exercise and questions throughout
  • Workbooks
  • Multiple choice questions
  • Case studies
  • Evidence gathering activities
  • Written reports of scenarios – describing how situations are handled by you

Each Module and Unit must be completed and the work sent to your allocated external NPA tutor and assessor who will give you a grade and provide feedback on the quality of your work.

How long will it take to complete the course?

The estimated study time to complete each Module is 20 hours.  This can be divided to suit you and your supervising pharmacist in your individual working environment.The time taken to complete the NVQ units will vary according to the evidence you need to gather.

The course must be completed within 1 year of enrolment1.

 

Do I get a certificate of completion?

Successful candidates will receive 2 certificates:

  • NPA certificate for the RPSGB accredited underpinning knowledge course (Modules)
  • NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services certificate from awarding body: City & Guild or Edexcel (Units)

Cost:  £375.00 (plus VAT)

When do I have to register by?

You must submit your enrolment form at least 5 weeks before the enrolment date you select.

The start date will be in April.  An exact date will be available when you request an enrolment form.
